Rescinded Student Acceptance Policy

Acceptance to Ocho Rios College is a privilege that may be rescinded under specific conditions to maintain the integrity, safety, and quality of our educational environment. Below are the primary reasons acceptance may be rescinded, as well as an overview of the potential advantages and disadvantages for both students and the institution.

Reasons for Rescinding Acceptance

Acceptance may be rescinded for reasons including, but not limited to:

  1.  Academic Non-Performance: If the applicant’s final grades or completion of prerequisite courses fall below the college’s academic standards.

  2. Submission of False or Misleading Information: Discovery of falsified academic transcripts, test scores, recommendation letters, or other application materials.

  3. Disciplinary Infractions: Involvement in criminal activities or violations of ethical standards, such as cheating, bullying, or substance abuse, prior to or during the admission process.

  4. Non-Compliance with College Policies: Failure to meet specific requirements set forth in the offer of admission, such as submitting final transcripts, proof of insurance, or other required documentation by the deadline.

  5. Financial Obligations: Failure to meet agreed-upon financial responsibilities by the specified deadlines, including tuition and enrollment fees.

  6. Medical or Health Concerns: If specific health requirements for participation in college programs are not met, or if a student is unable to safely attend due to health reasons.
